Summary::

CRBLP Bangla Speller is a 100% pure Java library to provide local spell checking service for Bangla. This free Java library can be used for checking spelling in Bangla Unicode (utf-8) documents and this library can also be used in other applications (e.g. email client, word processor, etc.) for Bangla spell checking.

Details::

This spelling checker was built based on Jazzy Spelling checker <http://jazzy.sourceforge.net/ >. We modified the Jazzy for Bangla and used the spelling checker for BanglaPad <http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=158301&package_id=180246 >, unicode rich text editor for Bangla built at CRBLP. This spelling checker uses the same technology as BanglaSpellerSandBox (Puspa Speller) <http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=158301&package_id=180247>, which uses the combination of edit-distance and phonetic encoding algorithm for Bangla, based on the concept of Metaphone phonetic encoding. We are releasing it for developers, so that this Bangla spelling engine can be used in other applications.
